How the framework reduces avoidable risk
Vanguard does not assume every workload belongs in the same cloud service or should migrate in the same way. It creates decision points for retaining, retiring, replacing, rehosting, replatforming, or refactoring systems based on business value, complexity, security, and cost.
Decision gates
- Is the business case clear enough to proceed?
- Are dependencies and data flows understood?
- Has the target architecture been reviewed?
- Are rollback and continuity plans credible?
- Have security and operational controls been validated?
- Are ownership, monitoring, and cost controls in place after migration?
